St. Joseph stands on the left with his cane. His hair is not yet very gray, but the top of his head is bald. In the center the Christ Child, apparently about a year old, reaches out to his grandmother, St. Anne. The man on the right should be Anne's husband Joachim. His ermine cape must refer to some sort of royal association, perhaps descent from King David?
