The True Cross with St. Francis and St. Helena

Franciscan Museum, Dubrovnik, Croatia

St. Francis wears the habit of his order; the "stigma" can be seen on his left hand. St. Helena wears a small diadem; the angel at her feet proffers a full-size crown topped by a cross. The letters IHS on the cross are the last and first two letters of the Greek for "Jesus."
