Gaetano Zompini, Miracle of the Virgin

18th century
Church of San Giacomo dall'Orio, Venice, Italy

The "miracle," related in the Golden Legend, has an unbelieving Jew lose his hand for touching the sarcophagus while the Apostles carry it to Mary's tomb. In some versions of the story the Jew converts and gets his hands back.
