The continuity of the historical Last Supper with the Christian liturgy is emphasized by the chalice and host in Jesus' left hand. John, as usual, is the one reclining on Jesus' shoulder. Peter is the older man with the square beard to the left of Jesus. Judas, second from the left on the viewer's side of the table, is identified by the fact he is the only one without a halo.
