This painting closely follows the traditional iconography, with rays leading to from Christ's wounds to corresponding places on St. Francis's body, a mountainside, and two chapels.

This is one of a pair of panels by an unknown Italian master. The other half has Saints Cecilia and Valerian receiving their crowns.
