Mary and the Christ Child give the rosary to representatives of three religious orders on the right. On the left, a noble and an ecclesiastic receive a garland of roses. Encircling the scene is a rosary with all fifteen decades. Sets of ten "Hail Mary" prayers preceded by the "Our Father" (Lord's Prayer) and concluded with a "Glory be.…." (The fifteenth, the Coronation of the Virgin, is at the top of the painting but was cut off in the photograph.)
