St. Camillo de Lellis

Façade of the Church of La Maddalena, Rome

In paintings St. Camillo often wears a cassock or stole with a red cross. Here he is identified only by the habit of his order, with the characteristic collar. On the church façade the statue is paired with that of St. Philip Neri, his confessor and spiritual adviser. Neri lived in the monastery adjacent to the church.
