The Life of Jesus Christ: Image Cycles
Here are a few medieval and paleo-Christian works that present the life of Christ in a chronologically arranged set of images.
  • 6th century: The top band of images on the left and right walls of the Sant'Apollinare Nuovo in Ravenna.
  • 1160-80: A portable altar with ten plaques following from Annunciation to Resurrection.
  • First Half of the 14th century: Reliefs on the façade of Orvieto Cathedral.
