The Sarcophagus of Marcus Claudianus: Detail, Moses receives the Law

Because of weathering the hand of God in the upper right does not immediately register as such, but the rock on which Moses has set his left foot is a signifier of Mt. Sinai typical in sarcophagi images of this type. In other sarcophagi the hand reaching from the left side of the central inscription is balanced by another reaching from the right side to restrain Abraham from sacrificing Isaac.

The man standing behind Moses could be Aaron.
