The Life of St. Paul: Paul is Dragged from the Temple (?)

Circa 1857-60
Oil on canvas
Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, Rome

This is from a series of paintings by various artists that line the nave and transept of the basilica.

In Acts 21:27-30 Jews from Asia cry out against Paul in the Temple. Heeding their complaints, the people seize him, drag him out of the Temple, and close the gates.
