Pio Cristiano Sarcophagus 31551: Detail, The Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes

See Matthew 14:13-21 and 15:32-39, Mark 6:34-44, Luke 9:10-17. Jesus and three disciples stand with six of the twelve baskets of left-overs. Jesus is portrayed here and in the other panels as a beardless youth with longer hair than the others. This is common in sarcophagi of this period.

It may well be that the tradition of portraying John the Evangelist without a beard has already set in.
