St. Vitus Medallion

Church of St. Vitus, San Vito lo Capo, Sicily

The cross in his hand appears sometimes in images of St. Vitus, referring to his placing the sign of the cross over a lion that had been loosed upon him. The two dogs are the more common attribute of this saint.
