Stained Glass
Church of St. Mary the Virgin
Friston, Eastbourne, England

The artist follows the traditional iconography of this saint. He holds book and a pilgrim's staff with a gourd, and a scallop shell hangs from the band of his hood. For those unfamiliary with the iconography, his name is given in the scroll at the very top. the bottom of the window registers the date and the donor, Cecil, Lord Hawkesbury.
