In Auvergne, in Gaul, SS. Praejectus, Bishop, and Amarinus, Abbot of Clermont. Both died at the hands of the nobles of that city. – Roman Martyrology for January 25
St. Praejectus was bishop of Clermont, in France, in the 7th century. He was assassinated by a man who blamed him for a friend's arrest and conviction on a charge of rape. The dispute was not about religion, but Praejectus came to be considered a martyr nonetheless.
