Church of the Assumption, Tlaxiaco

Tlaxiaco is a city of over 17,000 people in the Mixteca region of Oaxaca. It is known as both Heroica Ciudad de Tlaxiaco ("Heroic" because of its resistance to the regime of the Emperor Maximilian) or Santa María Asunción Tlaxiaco ("Holy Mary of the Assumption Tlaxiaco").  Our tour begins with a statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe
