Unidentified religious (apparently Franciscan) Basis for Identification: Purple habit, tonsure, white cord for a cincture. Other characteristics: Five o'clock shadow. Site: Church of San Pedro y San
Pablo, Teposcolula. Location: North wall of the nave, just west of the north portal (see note). Next:
Continuing past the north portal, we find a statue of Christ
seated in the pretorium (the "pensive Christ"). Note: On
this

references to the cardinal directions always assume
that the main altar is at the east end of the church,
the narthex or entry area at the west end, and the two
walls
of the nave on the
north and south. (The
nave is the long central section.)
